LEAP Into
LEGO Robotics!
For 35 years, LEGO® Education has
been working with teachers and educational specialists to deliver playful
learning experiences that bring subjects to life in the classroom and make
learning fun and impactful.
LEGO® Education has a wide range of
physical and digital educational resources that encourage students to think
creatively, reason systematically and release their potential to shape their
own future.
This session will give teachers
hands-on experience with two of the STEM solutions for educators - WeDo 2.0 and
LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3.
WeDo 2.0 makes elementary science
come to life through hands-on tasks, real-world projects, and relevant
technology that engages students. Through project-based activities, students’
skills are enhanced across science, engineering, technology, and coding.
For upper elementary, middle and
high school students, the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 enables students to
build, program, and test their solutions based on LEGO building bricks and
real-life robotics technology. This solution can enhance student skills
in math, science, technology, engineering and computer science.
The workshop will feature hands on
instruction from NWOCA’s Chris Malanga, a LEGO Education Certified Trainer.
During the morning, participants will build and program the WeDo 2.0 using the
built-in curriculum. In the afternoon, teachers will work with the
MINDSTORMS® EV3, learning how to program the robot to complete a variety of challenges.
