All in the Timing
By
David Ives
The world according to David Ives is a very odd place, and his plays constitute
a virtual stress test of the English language – and of the audience’s capacity
for disorientation and delight. Ives’ characters plunge into black holes called
“Philadelphia’s”, where the simplest desires are hilariously thwarted. And
a conman peddles courses in a dubious language in which “hello” translates as
“velcro” and “freud”. Come join us for a selection of Ives’ act plays including
some of his original six one-acts and introducing some of his new works from
his extended fourteen one-acts.
