Avon High School’s Drama Club presents Radium Girls, a play by D.W. Gregory. Set in the early 20th century, the play takes place in a time when the recently discovered element of radium was marketed as a “miracle cure” used to treat cancer and other illnesses. When Grace Fryer, a glow-in-the-dark watch dial painter for the U.S. Radium Corporation, falls ill with a mysterious and painful disease, she must fight both the company she works for and her own family and friends, who fear that her campaign for justice will backfire.
