Ms. Emma Lou Roberson (affectionately known as Ms. Emma Lou) was the consummate band booster parent who supported not only her own children but many others involved in extra-curricular activities in Giant Land. Ms. Roberson became a band parent in 1981 and served faithfully for nearly 3 decades as her children and grandchildren participated in band, football, and cheerleading, and ROTC.
She traveled thousand of miles with the band, was an amazing seamstress who designed and sewed flags for the flag team with her own funds, fed the football team, and much more. Her contributions are countless, and her winning smile and jovial spirit were contagious. Everyone knew they could count on Ms. Emma Lou and her group of faithful band parent friends. Ms. Emma Lou not only served the students of Green Oaks but also her community.
In November of 2019, just one month prior to her transition to glory, she asked her daughters to leave a scholarship for a Green Oaks Student in her name and continue her legacy by supporting and recognizing Green Oaks High School Students. The Emma Lou Roberson Recognition and Scholarship Program will bring her vision to fruition and will be an important part of her incredible legacy as a servant leader. Her children and grandchildren are the collective sponsors and invite the community businesses and others to help increase the number and amount of the scholarships by making any generous contribution. The ELR Fund also provide incentives to encourage our students to increase there grades and participate in extra curricular actives which qualify them to possibly receive a scholarship.
Thank You for Your Generous Contribution.
