This test is open to Cloverleaf High School Accelerated Sophomores
The PSAT/NMSQT is a preparatory test for the SAT. As a sophomore, you are not eligible for the scholarship competition this year, but the experience gained from taking the PSAT could be valuable during your junior year when you do become eligible for the National Merit Competition. This is great practice for college entrance tests. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR COLLEGE BOUND SOPHOMORES!
and Cloverleaf High School Juniors (Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)
The PSAT/NMSQT is a preparatory test for the SAT (College Admissions Test). The PSAT measures critical reading, mathematical reasoning and writing skills that are important for success in college. The tests cover knowledge and skills developed through years of study in a wide range of courses. It also tests the ability to reason with facts and concepts rather than the ability to recall them.
Why take the test?
Qualify for participation in the National Merit Scholarship program which is a 4 year renewable scholarship if you become a National Merit Scholar winner.
Qualify for other Corporate Sponsored Scholarships or Enrichment Programs that use the PSAT results. (See your Student Guide - students will receive one once they have registered)
