Jack and Algernon are both upper class, Victorian bachelors who fall madly in love with the girl of their dreams while posing as Jack's fictional brother, Ernest. Chaos erupts as both men are found out and long-lost secrets are revealed. The Importance of Being Earnest pokes fun of societal rules, gender roles, and is full of wit, charm, and a heaping helping of ridiculousness.
