All classes will be held at your child’s school directly at the end of the school day ending at 5:00 p.m. unless noted with the class descriptions. No class will held when school is not in session. If necessary, all snow dates will be made up at the end of the session.

Girl’s
Craft Camp
with Amanda Weis, MHS student
Create amazing crafts with all sorts of art
mediums. New crafts and fun themes will
be used each week. Students will be
taking their master pieces home with them each week.
Minecraft with Erin Cherney, MECC

Minecraft is a computer
program based class that is all about imagination and adventure! In this class
your students will engage in many different types of projects that will
challenge them and allow them to use their creativity. Problem Solving is a
large component of Minecraft, with some challenges in Architecture, Crafting,
and even Circuitry! Students can register for this program again and again! New groups, new children and new creations!
Multi-Sports with Jay Johnston, MECC Gym Teacher
Children
will enjoy a wide variety of programs each week. We will be planning basketball, flag
football, capture the flag, dodgeball and have fun picking new adventures every
week.

Glazers Pottery
with Ann Flynn Owner of Star Glazers
No need to be an artist! Join us as we hand-build with clay.
We will create some really cool pieces from clay that will get fired in the
kiln. Then we will glaze them using mega-fun techniques. Check out the

projects.
Hula Hoop with Morgan Junkerman of
Spin Happy Hoop Dance
Students will be introduced to hula hoop
dance! Classes provide a variety of
tricks; games and exercises intended to develop balance, hand eye coordination,
core strength and cardiovascular endurance.

Fencing with Ryan Howell, Professional
Fencing Instructor
Come experience the excitement of learning the
art and sport of fencing! Students suit
up in protective fencing gear while they participate in footwork blade work,
free fencing, games and occasional team and individual competitions. Sessions also include the “game day foam
sword battle party!”

Rope

Join the fun and healthy sport of jump
rope! Learn the basics of the sport both
as individuals and as groups. No
experience is necessary. Make sure you
wear your gym shoes the day of the class.
Bricks
4 Kidz

A Bricks 4 Kidz
Brick Lab is a hands-on class where students build machines, buildings,
vehicles, and other structures out of LEGO® components including bricks, gears,
axles, and motors. Each week, students will learn about a STEM concept
and then build a model illustrating that concept. Custom mini-figure included.
This session theme is “Interesting
Adventures!” Unleash your child’s
inner inventor in this unit! Students
will discuss how inventors come up with ideas, what steps they take to create
their inventions and will build models of some famous as well as lesser known

Hand Sewing with Pilvi Ketola Mason Resident/Parent
Welcome to the fun hand sewing class where you
will be learning an art that will be used forever! We will be learning different types of
stitches using a variety of fabrics such as felt, waffle fabric and fleece. A variety of projects will be completed each
week which could include pin cushions, purses, placemats, hats and so much
more!
Chess with Ashwin
Kalyanakumar, MHS Chess Team Member
All students, experienced and non-experienced
chess players are welcome to join this program.
Ashwin is a student at Mason High School and member of the MHS Chess
Team and will be teaching children basic to complicated moves that students
will carry forward for their entire lives!
Computer
Program
with Erin Cherney, MECC Certified Teacher
Students will program their own interactive
stories and games using our classroom iPads.
In the process they will learn to solve problems, design projects and
express themselves creatively on the computer.
Science
is Fun!
with Sue Mishra, Mason Parent
In this session we will be having a blast –
literally a blast! We will focus on
rockets, how they work and how astronauts get into space. We will even make our
own models and launch them! Try out
different fin and nose designs and customize it however you want! After our rocket adventures we will go back
to the classic science experiment – a volcano that you will get to take
home! We will also be learning about
density and magnetism!
Karate ASEP Fund Raiser with Melanie Gregory of West Chester Martial Arts (Special times: 3:45 – 4:30)
This
year we will be focusing on dealing with bullies in a positive way, creating
better study habits at home and the children will learn new self-defense
moves! We will have karate drills/games
that will enhance their coordination skills and eye/hand skills! A graduation ceremony will be held at our
studio in Union Center, details will be sent home with students. All funds collected for this program are
donated to the ASEP department. Karate
is a repeat from last session, however students are welcome to participate
again if they would like!
