This October, join us with two spirited and family-friendly* walking tours that discovers what our city?s forefathers had hoped we would never uncover.

Oakdale in October Tour
5:00 PM ? Oakdale Cemetery
Join local historian Holly Underwood as we venture through historic Oakdale Cemetery on a fun and entertaining guided tour. We will discover the final resting places of Marysville?s
founding fathers and notable residents. We will also explore cemetery symbolism and uncover long-forgotten oddities.

Secrets of the Shady City Tour
6:30 PM ? Union County Courthouse
Join us as we walk through historic Uptown and discover the darker side of the Shady City.
Marysville?s darkest secrets will be unveiled as we discuss local legends, ghost sightings, and lore. Join us if you dare!

Reception at the Historical Society
7:00 PM ? Union County Historical Society
Following the Secrets of the Shady City Tour, join us at the Union County Historical Society
for a special reception and tour. Refreshments will be provided.

Saturday, October 20, 2012 and Sunday, October 21, 2012

Tickets: $5 per adult, per tour ? Advanced Ticket Purchase Required
Tickets can be purchased at City Hall, 2nd Floor, or at the Union County Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds benefit the Union County Historical Society.

NOTE: Walking tours are offered on both dates. Participants are required to drive to the tour origins: Oakdale Cemetery and the Union County Courthouse (South Court Street Lawn). Be sure to wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes. Please bring a flashlight for your safety and security.

* All children must be accompanied by adults. Tours will be held rain or shine with the exception of severe weather (lightning).
