Science Discovery Camp

Summer of 2024

June 3 - 7, 2024

As we reach the maximum number of students in a particular class/program, it will become impossible to register for the class/program.  There is nothing wrong with the site, this is an automatic process that closes the registration. Please note that in the event camp has to be canceled by MCS, there will be a $20 non-refundable deposit. There are NO refunds given if you cancel your registration.

Registrations will be accepted until May 1, 2024, classes are full or canceled; whichever comes first.  Early Bird Registration by April 17, 2024, to ensure a camp t-shirt. Please be prompt in completing registrations since class sizes are limited and classes have filled very quickly.

Confirmation emails will be sent as programs are confirmed with the minimum amount of students required to operate the programs. If you register for multiple classes, it’s very possible that all classes will not be confirmed at the same time.  This simply means that you may receive multiple confirmation letters.  Confirmation letters will contain all important information about the pick-up of students, snacks, etc.  Your confirmation will include current COVID protocols.  Permission form.

WHAT IS Science Discovery Camp

Girls and boys can enjoy a fun-filled week of science:  Anatomy, biology, chemistry, CSI, dinosaurs, earth science, general science, model rocketry, physics, space science, and things that can fly.

Why Science Discovery Camp?

Science and technology are becoming more and more a way and fact of life. Students need to gain an appreciation and a love for science. We strive to get campers excited about experiencing science in a hands-on environment.

Who is the staff of Science Discovery Camp?

The teaching staff is made up of elementary teachers, gifted teachers, enrichment teachers, intermediate teachers, middle school teachers, and high school teachers.

How old is Science Discovery Camp?

Science Discovery Camp was established in 1989 as a sleep-away camp, and has been running in its current format as a day camp since 1990! That’s over 30 years of hands-on science.

Who can come to Science Discovery Camp?

Girls and boys who will be in grades 1–9 next school year (2024/2025). Campers may choose to attend one half-day program, or two half-day programs and attend all day for the week.  Each program consists of five–three hour lab sessions.

PROGRAMS

Programs are divided by grade levels. The Grade level is the grade your child is going into NEXT school year, 2024/2025.
