Eighth graders will have the opportunity to take a field trip to Cedar Point on Thursday, May 9th. This year’s spring extravaganza allows eligible students to spend a fun-filled day at America’s world-famous “Amazement Park!"

Staff chaperones and students will rendezvous throughout the day in order to (1) check on health and safety and (2) allow students to change from group to group, if they wish. Students are on their own and are instructed to be with their friends – either in pairs or groups – and will be enjoying the park. Should any concerns arise, parents will be notified. Students who cannot attend or do not qualify for the incentive trip will be provided with alternative assignments back at school on the day of the trip. Students who need financial assistance can inquire in the AMS Main Office.

Event Tickets: Students will be receiving their purchased, discounted tickets to enter the park when they arrive at Cedar Point.  

Season Passes: Students need to bring their season passes, as the passes are their only means to enter the park.

Due to Cedar Point's new policy on cashless purchases, your child will need a cashless payment option (credit card/Visa gift card/etc.) to purchase food or merchandise.  Or, students may upload cash onto a prepaid card upon arrival.  Students are responsible for all of their personal belongings while at the park.

TIMES

Students arrive at AMS for their First Period (8:00 a.m.) classes.

Buses leave AMS around 8:45 a.m. and arrive at Cedar Point at 9:45 a.m.

Buses depart at the front gate of Cedar Point at 8:00 p.m. and arrive back at Avon Middle School (north lot / flagpole) at approximately 9:00 p.m.

MONEY

The cost for a ticket is $46.00. 

The cost for students with a season pass is $10.00.

All field trip payments should be made through Local Level. 

We discourage the use of cash or checks being sent to the Main Office. 

Cedar Point fees collected are non-refundable, though if students are unable to attend at the last minute, they can request their ticket to be used on any other date for the season.  The transportation fee for all students including season pass holders is also non-refundable. 

Students are responsible to bring and manage their own personal belongings.

QUALIFY

Cedar Point is an incentive, academic field trip. To qualify, students must not have any Out of School Suspensions in the 4th quarter.

DRESS

Modest attire (no halters, crop tops, tube tops, etc.). Remember you will be walking much of the day, so make sure to wear appropriate footwear. Students are to dress for the weather; remember to bring sunscreen lotion.
