Tournament Format
Age Group: Wrestlers should be registered for the age group based on their age on the day of the tournament.
12 & Under: Grades 6 and under - 7th grade athletes are not permitted
No Weigh-Ins: Select the appropriate weight class when registering. All wrestlers will be given a two pound allowance. A challenge scale will be on site if a weight is challenged. If the wrestler is not within 2lbs of their registered weight they will be disqualified and no refund will be given.
Periods: Each match will be one, three minute period. When going out of bounds, the wrestlers will return to the neutral position (no points awarded for escape).
Mats and Assignments: There will be five mats. Each weight class will be assigned to a mat and the bracket for that weight class will be wrestled through completion at the assigned mat. Each age group will be completed in 90 minutes.
Combining Weight Classes: Tournament personnel reserve the right to combine weight classes based on registration numbers. Combined weight classes will be no more than +/- one weight class within each other.
Awards: The top three wrestlers in each weight class will earn an award
Anticipated Time Frames:
- 6 & Under: 9am - 10:30am
- 8 & Under: 10:30am - 12:00pm
- 10 & Under: 12:00pm - 1:30pm
- 12 & Under: 1:30pm - 3:00pm
