The City of Mason has a goal to teach every resident how to be safe in the water. Help us meet this mission by participating in the City’s Safety Swim Clinic at Mason Community Center. Swim professionals will teach participants basic techniques and safe swimming practices. Safety is the first step to confident fun in the water!

Provide education on food insecurity in the Mason area; Provide a tour of the pantry; Have students help with an activity that supports our Thanksgiving Ministry - on Wed, Nov 26th, our parish community prepares Thanksgiving Meal boxes to be given to those neighbors that come to the Schuh Center pantry, neighbors that our St. Vincent de Paul Conference identifies, and others that would not have a Thanksgiving meal without this assistance.

Participants can gain real-world insight into a career in public service through a job shadowing experience at the City of Mason Service Center. Participants will team up with a Service Coordinator to explore how the Service Department supports the City’s daily operations – from maintaining streets and parks to managing city vehicles and facilities. This hands-on opportunity offers a closer look at the essential work our Service Department does to keep the Mason community running safely and smoothly for our residents, businesses, and visitors. This is a great opportunity for participants to explore potential career paths in municipal operations and maintenance that do not necessarily require a college degree.

Participants can gain real-world insight into a career in public service through a job shadowing experience with the City of Mason Public Utilities Department. Participants will team up with an Environmental Technician to discover how science, engineering and environmental stewardship comes together at one of the most critical facilities to the protection, health, safety and welfare of the community, the City of Mason Water Reclamation Plant. Participants will work alongside field professionals to learn how the City oversees wastewater treatment operations at this state of the art facility, as well as maintains the City’s wastewater and stormwater system. This behind the scenes opportunity offers valuable insight into a field that manages critical infrastructure that protects public health and the environment. This opportunity is ideal for individuals exploring a career in environmental science, utilities and skilled trades.

In today’s society, active threats can occur in any environment. This safety workshop, facilitated by City of Mason Police Officers, will cover historical trends of these events and empower you with decision making skills on the three basic actions that can be taken should you find yourself in this situation: Run, Hide, Fight.

Students will have an opportunity to tour our Post, learn about the history, mission, and purpose of the American Legion, and hear from a panel of Veterans on their experience of service.

Students will spend the day at Camp Joy engaging in hands-on team-building, nature-based learning, and reflective activities designed to foster connection, communication, and personal growth. From a warm welcome and icebreakers to large group challenges and a peaceful closing circle, the experience is both enriching and aligned with academic and social-emotional goals. Students must bring a packed lunch to Camp Joy on 11/21/25

Ultimate Frisbee provides the opportunity for casual play and friendly competition! Players will work on catching and different Disc throws while learning the rules of the game. Ultimate is a self-officiated sport, and good sportsmanship is expected. Running/jogging on the gym floor is expected. Gym shoes are mandatory. No Flip-flops, Crocs, boots, or dress shoes.

Come join us for this Journey Day technical camp focused on ball manipulation, dribbling moves, passing and receiving techniques, finishing, and decision making to help you improve your confidence as a player. This FUN and fast-paced camp offers 1000s of touches on the ball and plenty of technical skill repetition in pressurized situations and small-sided games.
