With new research in the Science of Reading highlighting the importance of spoken language instruction, this asynchronous book study is ideal for K–2 teachers looking to strengthen students’ oral language and conversation skills. The course runs January 19–March 27, 2026, with modules hosted in Google Classroom and optional Zoom meetings on February 11 and March 11 from 3:30–4:30 p.m. Books are available for the first 30 participants who register. Participants who complete all Google Classroom modules will earn 16 contact hours, or 18 contact hours with full participation in both Zoom sessions.
This workshop is provided at no additional cost for employees & educators from ESCLEW-sponsored community school and consulting department aligned districts (Maumee, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Sylvania, and Washington Local). It is $50 per person for employees & educators from all other schools and districts, including ESCLEW employees NOT working at an ESCLEW-sponsored community school or consulting department aligned districts.
