We are so excited that you will be “Kickin’ with the Highsteppers.” The following explains what you and your child should expect for the week of clinic:

Clinic – 5:00-7:00 p.m. Girls Gym Participants will receive their t-shirts this day.
Friday, January 23, 2026
Haughton High vs. Byrd basketball game.—Please have your child in the HHS Girls Gym (by the bus ramp) at 5:30 p.m. fully dressed. At that time, the Highsteppers will review the dance with participants and get them ready to perform. Parents and family members should go to the HHS Main gym (by Stadium) immediately after dropping off their daughters, sit on the appropriate side, and get ready for the performance! The Highsteppers will escort the girls to the gym at their performance time.
PreK & Kindergarten will perform around 6:30pm at the 1st game half-time, 1st & 2nd grade will perform between the 2 games around 7pm & 3rd-6th grade will perform around 7:30pm. All times are approximate and you should arrive early to secure a seat. Dancers will be released to their parents after each performance. All parents & other spectators must have a ticket for game admittance ($8).
So that all parents can sit in the gym, we will alternate performance sides.
Which side of the gym do I sit on to watch my dancer?
Left side (home) Kindergarten, 2nd, 5th/6th grades
Right side (away) PreK, 1st, 3rd/4th grades
**After each performance, Lil Steppers will wait for parent pickup in the lobby by the girls restroom. Lil Steppers should be picked up by parents IMMEDIATELY after their performance. Please pick up your daughter in a timely manner so the Highsteppers can prepare for their next performance. **Girls must be released to an adult.
Tickets for the Game
We highly encourage you to purchase your game tickets NOW. Ticket lines on Friday night will be long and we would hate for you to miss your Lil Steppers dance. You may purchase tickets for $8 at the door (cash only) when you arrive or through this link. BPSB employees enter for free with ID. You are welcome to stay for both games & help us cheer on our Bucs!
Performance Attire
Lil Steppers should wear clinic t-shirts (the shirt they will receive on Thursday), shorts or dance pants, & sneakers/dance shoes. Our theme this year is Welcome to the Jungle. Girls may wear any comfortable clothes for the practice clinics.

Kickin’ with the HHS Highsteppers
What is it? The Haughton High School Danceline (Highsteppers) is sponsoring an elementary dance clinic for grades preK (must be potty trained) through 6th to help raise money to attend dance competition in Kilgore, TX. Participants in the clinic will have the opportunity to learn a routine and perform on Friday evening, January 23, 2026 for the HHS vs. Byrd Basketball game half-time.
Cost? $50—This includes a clinic t-shirt and snacks.
(Optional) Picture with Highsteppers $5 or picture with frame for $10. (Preorder suggested for frames; first come/first serve)
When/Where? January 21st - January 22nd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Girls Gym (by the bus ramp at HHS). The game performance is Friday, January 23rd. It will be in the Main gym (by the football stadium). Bucs vs Byrd game will begin at 6:00 p.m., and the Lil Steppers will perform at half-times & between games. If the performance time changes, participants will be notified the week of clinic.
LATE REGISTRATIONS ALLOWED AFTER JANUARY 16th (IF OPENINGS) BUT WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE SHIRT SIZE YOUR LIL STEPPER WILL RECEIVE. WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT THE FIRST 100 SIGNED UP SO GET YOURS IN NOW!
IMPORTANT INFO:
Parents are NOT permitted to stay in the gym during the clinic practice.
Correct t-shirt size is not guaranteed if registration is not completed before January 16th.
Parents and spectators must pay to enter the basketball game & should sit on the correct side. We encourage you to buy tickets for the game now so that you do not have to wait in line. We would hate for you to miss your Lil Steppers Dance. Ticket lines on Lil Stepper night are LONG.
