Recorder Music Club (2nd Grade) Recorder Music Club is a fun and focused after-school program designed for second grade students who are ready to grow their music skills. In this club, students will learn how to play the soprano recorder, with a special emphasis on the pitches B, A, and G—the foundation notes for beginning recorder players. Students will learn proper recorder technique, including posture, hand position, gentle breathing, and tonguing, while playing simple songs and musical games using B-A-G. Through guided practice and group playing, students will build confidence, listening skills, and ensemble awareness. This club supports musical literacy by introducing basic music reading, pitch direction (high and low), and steady beat, all in a supportive and encouraging environment. No prior recorder experience is required—just a willingness to try, practice, and make music together.
