City of Mason: Healthy Heart Presentation

Healthy Heart Presentation: Students will have the opportunity to work with fitness professionals and learn the importance of heart rate. During exercise, your heart rate is a key indicator of how intense your workout is. This program will teach students how to read, understand, and incorporate heart rate into your fitness and wellness training. Build Wooden Garden Boxes for Mason Intermediate

Mr. Tim King will assist students in building wooden garden boxes to be used by the MI Science classes. Outdoors, weather permitting; we will move indoors in the case of inclement weather. City of Mason - Being Safe Online

Being safe online and on social media apps is a concern we all share. In this safety workshop, City of Mason Police Officers will discuss the hazards of sharing images of oneself with others online and trends on how predators seek to extort individuals once they obtain those images. Understanding and recognizing the signs of possible sexploitation can be vital in keeping yourself or your loved ones safe.

Matthew 25 Ministries

Family Walk-In Day!

Families are welcome to volunteer at Matthew 25 Ministries. It is recommended that students and parents volunteer for no longer than 2 hour shifts. Students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult (groups are allowed). 

Returning volunteers can just bring their M25 ID card with them. There is nothing the youth need to do/bring. First-time adult volunteers fill out the pre-registration questions prior to your visit using this link Volunteer Registration. Under Group Name please put Journey Days.

A Day at Camp Joy!
Students will spend the day at Camp Joy engaging in hands-on team-building, nature-based learning, and reflective activities designed to foster connection, communication, and personal growth. From a warm welcome and icebreakers to large group challenges and a peaceful closing circle, the experience is both enriching and aligned with academic and social-emotional goals.

A waiver will be sent via email to complete and bring with you to this class.

Ultimate Frisbee
Ultimate Frisbee offers opportunities for casual play and friendly competition! Players will work on catching and different Disc throws while learning the rules of the game. Ultimate is a self-officiated sport, and good sportsmanship is expected. Running/jogging on the gym floor is expected. Gym shoes are mandatory. No Flip-flops, Crocs, boots, or dress shoes.

Cooking Classes with The Learning Kitchen
Pan Grilled Pizza! The Learning Kitchen will host MCS students in 3rd-6th grade to learn how to make pan-grilled pizza with Homemade dough and sauce. Topping options: Mozzarella, pepperoni, peppers, mushrooms, and basil. For their second course, they will make a cinnamon sugar dessert pizza!

Cooking Classes with The Learning Kitchen
Pad Thai & Spring Rolls! The Learning Kitchen will host MCS students in 7th-12th grade to learn how to make fresh veggie rice-wrapped spring rolls with soy-ginger and peanut dipping sauces. For their second course, students will make stir-fried Pad Thai with chicken.

CrossFit Mason
CrossFit Mason is happy to invite you to an hour of fitness, connection, and fun. Kids will get an introduction to proper movement and will be challenged to participate in a workout that can be geared to all skill and ability levels. They will also participate in some age-specific games.
Performance training holds tremendous value physically, mentally, and beyond. It helps kids discover their ability to achieve through dedicated effort, and gives them the confidence to take on challenges both inside and outside the gym. Our performance training is designed to help them to become the best versions of themselves. We look forward to the opportunity to give our Comets an immersive experience in the world of CrossFit-style training. Closed-toe gym shoes and comfortable gym clothes. Bring a water bottle; there is a place to refill them.

Mosaic Climbing Experience
Mosaic Climbing offers age-differentiated Journey Day programming designed to provide students from kindergarten through high school with an engaging, educational climbing experience that builds confidence, teamwork, and physical literacy. The programs are designed to help students learn how they can honor their
interests by devoting time and energy toward building community. Students will be tasked with age-appropriate projects that encourage compassionate reflection, empathetic problem-solving, and connection and collaboration with their peers, all while engaging in physically and mentally stimulating climbing activity.

A waiver will be sent via email to complete and bring with you to this class.

Students will be grouped by their grades–
Grades 1st-3rd (registration minimum: 8 & maximum: 16)
Grades 4th-8th (registration minimum: 8 & maximum: 20)
Grades 9th-12th (registration minimum: 8 & maximum: 20)

Multisports
Students will have fun learning and playing different sports. Sports they will be learning include soccer, Wiffle ball, etc. This will be a positive and fun environment for the students to explore different sports, where everyone is encouraged to try something new in a non-competitive setting.
