âPeek into the Pastâ
Dear Parents,
The second-grade classes will be taking a field trip on Tuesday, May 5. We will be going to the Sharon Woods Heritage Village Museum. While in the village, students will experience, first-hand, village life in the 19th century by touring buildings and listening to knowledgeable volunteers. Some themes that are covered are family life, transportation, communication, and changes over time. While half of our group tours, the other half will visit with a Great Parks Naturalist learning about habitats and conservation during a program, 321 Impact.
The
cost for students is $8.00.
On the day of the trip, please send a brown bag lunch that may be thrown away after eating. If you would prefer a sack lunch from the school cafeteria, please send $1.90 to school (or payment can be deducted from your childâs lunch account). The school lunch usually contains a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, chips, an apple, and a drink.
We need chaperones for our trip. If you would like to join us, there is a $12.00 charge for chaperones. "Program fees include vehicle entry into the park for all participants. Upon entry, please notify the park attendant of the group name and entry will be provided." We encourage carpooling. On the day of our trip, if you are joining us as a chaperone, please meet in the cafeteria at MWE at 9:10. Weâll depart shortly after, in order to arrive at Sharon Woods for our tour/program at 10:00. We should return to school around 2:00.
Please submit payment by Thursday, April 23
If you have any questions, let us
know.
Sincerely,
Second Grade Teachers
