If you are bringing a guest, please see Ms. Ebright in room 234 for a Guest approval form (it is also posted in the Senior
Google Classroom).
7:00pm: Arrival and Check In
•All attendees must have a ticket to gain admittance into prom.
•Please arrange your own transportation to prom.
•Guests from another school must provide photo identification to get in.
•All attendees must enter through the check-in location.
•All bags should be left inside your vehicles or at home. There are no bags allowed into Prom (other than purses).
•Persons and personal belongings are subject to search at any time. 7:00 – 8:15pm: Doors Open. After 8:15 there is no
admittance to the Prom.
•Snack food/appetizers will be provided. Dinner WILL NOT be provided -- eat before coming! •Voting for Prom King and
Queen will take place at Prom. Only West seniors can vote.
•Prom King and Queen winners will be announced at 9:30PM.
10:00PM: Prom Ends.
After Prom is at Dave and Busters from 10:00PM-midnight. You will receive a $20 game card for ticketed games. Video
Games are free for the night with your game card.
Alcohol and Substance Use/Possession
The following procedures will be carried out for any student or guest suspected of possession or use of alcohol or other
controlled substance:
1. The students will be removed from Prom.
2. The parent/guardian will be notified.
3. The police at Prom will handle the student at that point. You will be charged with underage possession.
4. Consequences will include but are not limited to school suspension, suspension of extra-curricular activities, loss of
school leadership positions, loss of ability to participate in graduation ceremonies.
Prom Rules and Guidelines
1. All prom attendees must be on the pre-approved check-in list. Guest must show photo ID at entry. All attendees must
abide by all school rules and board policies. Prom is a school sponsored event.
2.There is no smoking at the prom. The venue is a non-smoking facility and the prom is a school function. If you are caught
smoking anywhere on the grounds, you will be asked to leave.
3.No food, beverages, or containers are allowed into Prom.
4.No bags will be permitted into the Prom. All persons and personal belongings are subject to search at any time.
5.Students will not be permitted into Prom after 8:15pm.
6.Students will not be permitted to go outside or to their cars once they are admitted into prom.
7.Students who leave will not be permitted into Prom again once they leave, under any circumstances.
8.The use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and/or other illegal substances are strictly prohibited by state law and school/district
policy.
9.Any students found under the influence, appearing to be under the influence, and/or has the odor on their persons will be
subject to disciplinary action as defined by the CCS substance abuse policy in addition to state and city laws. The
Columbus Police Department will present.
10.Disorderly or inappropriate persons will be removed from the premises. Parents/guardians will be contacted in the event
of a problem; the Columbus Police Department will be on site to deal with any issues.
11.Violations of school policy while at prom can result in loss of privileges, future opportunities, leadership positions, and
sever disciplinary sanctions.
12.Guests can be no younger than 9th grade and no older than 20 years
13. There will be no refunds given.
