Definitions of Athletic Event Levels: Closed, Restricted, Limited
and Open Attendance Athletic Events:



Closed Athletic Event A closed athletic event is an
athletic contest that is not open to spectators. Attendance is limited to
participating athletes, coaches, game officials, authorized event personnel,
and other individuals specifically approved by the district or event
administrator.



Restricted Athletic Event A restricted athletic event is an
athletic contest where attendance is limited to participating athletes,
coaches, game officials, parents or legal guardians of participating athletes,
and authorized event personnel. No other spectators will be admitted.



Limited Attendance
Athletic Event
A
limited attendance athletic event is an athletic contest that is open to
spectators, but subject to attendance restrictions and additional admission
requirements.



The following restrictions
apply:



1. High school students may
attend only if they are currently enrolled in one of the two participating
schools.



2. High school students must
present a valid Student Success Card and pay all applicable admission fees.



3. Students from schools who are
not participating in the contest will not be admitted.



4. Elementary and middle school
students must present a valid Student Success Card, pay all applicable
admission fees, and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times
during the event.



5. Admission gates will close at
the conclusion of halftime activities. No spectators will be admitted after
that time.



6. All spectators are subject to
district athletic event expectations and may be removed for violations of
district policies, event rules, or inappropriate conduct.



Open Athletic Event An open athletic event allows general public to attend
without restrictions with paid admission.



Protocols for Athletic Event Attendance Decisions



Building
Principals will make the decision if their athletic events will be Open or
Limited Attendance and notify their Athletic Coordinator, Office of Athletics
& Student Activities as well as Safety and Security three days prior to the
event.



If
a building principal wishes to have a Closed or Restricted Athletic Event, the
principal will recommend to his/her Principal Supervisor, Athletic Coordinator,
Office of Athletics & Student Activities and Safety & Security three
days prior to the event to conference on a collective decision.



All
events changes will be communicated to the Columbus Police Department through
our Department of Safety & Security.
