The Educational Service Center (ESC) of Lake Erie West Drone Racing League is open to students in grades 7-12 in areas served by the ESC of Lake Erie West. Teams are facilitated through the Challenger Learning Center of Lake Erie West. Teams consist of four students: pilot, spotter, and two repair technicians. Students are encouraged to apply for the racing league individually or with other students to create a team. Teams will build a tiny whoop FPV (first person viewing) drone and race the drone through a course and navigate obstacles. Teams will fly the drone using a controller and navigate using FPV goggles to see what the drone camera sees. Racing teams will compete in a series of races throughout the year for various trophies or prizes. Races will be hosted at the Penta Career Center or the Challenger Learning Center of Lake Erie West.
