Ladies of Longford to open DAC Sundays at Scioto concerts
It's time to grab your blankets, lawn chairs and appetites (There will be food carts!) and head to the park!
Dublin Arts Council's 30th annual Sundays at Scioto free summer concert series kicks off this Sunday, June 9 at 7 p.m. at the outdoor amphitheatre at Scioto Park, 7377 Riverside Dr., in Dublin. Popular
Celtic band, Ladies of Longford will open the series with Irish flair. Prepare for a relaxing evening filled with traditional and contemporary Celtic music.
Ladies of Longford has been performing together for 10 years at many renowned festivals, including the Dublin (Ohio) Irish Festival. This all-female, five-member central Ohio group (pictured above left to right) includes bandleader Hilda Doyle on vocals and guitar, her two daughters Stephanie (vocals/bass) and Heather Doyle Fraser (vocals/djembe), Liz Blickenstaff on fiddle and Molly Pauken on percussion/drums. Staying true to their Irish roots, the band's name was inspired by the Doyle family's heritage in County Longford, Ireland. In addition to their central Ohio fan base, Ladies of Longford has an established international following.
