On Wednesday, October 16, from 7:30 am to 10:00 am, Lake High School will administer the PSAT/NMSQT for college bound juniors, a test that showcases the skills and knowledge that the student is learning in class that are essential for college.

You must register and pay for the test on LocalevelEvents.com.  The cost of the test is around $18.00 per student.  There will be no refunds.  If you have questions, please contact the counseling office at 330-877-4285 or email Miss. Stuffel at stuffelhollie@lakelocal.org.

On Tuesday, October 15, students will complete the registration packet.

We encourage you to take advantage of the many benefits PSAT/NMSQT offers:

v  Get connected to colleges and universities across the country and to scholarship organizations.

v  Get ready for the new SAT.  Taking the PSAT/NMSQT is great practice for the new SAT and helps sharpen your skills for college.  After you get your scores you can link them to Khan Academy to keep practicing where you need it most.

v  Get matched with AP courses that make the most of your strengths.  AP can give you an edge in the admission process, and the opportunity to earn college credit.

v  When you take the PSAT/NMSQT, you’re automatically screened for the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.
