The Educational Service Center (ESC) of Lake Erie West Drone Racing League is open to students in grades 7-12 in areas served by the ESC of Lake Erie West. Teams are facilitated through the Challenger Learning Center of Lake Erie West. Teams consist of four students: pilot, spotter, and two repair technicians. Students are encouraged to apply for the racing league individually or with other students to create a team. Teams will build a tiny whoop FPV (first person viewing) drone and race the drone through a course and navigate obstacles. Teams will fly the drone using a controller and navigate using FPV goggles to see what the drone camera sees. Racing teams will compete in a series of races throughout the year for various trophies or prizes. Races will be hosted at the Penta Career Center or the Challenger Learning Center of Lake Erie West. Racing fees are $10* per student, per race.
