Summer 2020 Online Gifted Book Study: Teaching Gifted Kids in Today's Classroom (June 1 - July 9)

Teaching Gifted Kids in Today's Classroom: Strategies and Techniques Every Teacher Can Use (4th Edition) by Susan Winebrenner. Course facilitated by Kallie Gensler, NwOESC Education Consultant & Gifted Consultant.


This book study will begin Monday, June 1, 2020 and end Thursday, July 9, 2020. The book for our study can be purchased online. Use ISBN# 978-1631983726.


Cost: Free to school staff within NwOESC member districts of Defiance, Fulton, Henry and Williams county.

 

A classic in gifted education, Teaching Gifted Kids in Today's Classroom: Strategies and Techniques Every Teacher Can Use promises to "transform the school experiences of your high-ability learners while raising achievement of all of your students." This book is foundational to teaching gifted students providing strategies to help you maintain a gifted-friendly classroom.

In this study, there are nine reading assignments with choices of response-prompts, which you will post in Google Classroom so others in the study will be able to comment or ask questions. Google Classroom access information will be share following registration by the course facilitator.

This book study affords you the comfort of your own space, in your own time, with no substitute plans to prepare. Plus, earn 15 hours toward your gifted hours! Invite a colleague to read and complete the study together!

  • Registration is required to receive a Certificate of Attendance for CEUs/LPDC. The course must be completed by the end date to receive your certificate. No exceptions.
